When You Fall In Love With a Writer.
Falling in love is one of the most incredible things that you can experience in your lifetime. All of the butterflies and the firsts, it really is like nothing else.
One of the most beautiful things about love is that it is so unapologetically honest. You learn someone in all of their vulnerable states. There is no more curtain to hide behind, because truly falling in love means that you stepped out from behind the curtain, and your praying that all of you is going to be enough. That all your crazy is going to make you even more appealing to the other person. You hope that they will look at you, with that look that lets you know that you are something special to them.
That, right there, thats the goal.
But, when you fall in love with writer, all of that is enhanced. All of the ways that you look at them; they will then try to find the words to explain that feeling. They will agonize over the phrasing and the word choice into the early hours of the morning, just to make sure that the emotion they felt came across. With some writers, they don't know how they feel until they write it down. When those words flow out like water, and they are finally put on paper, thats when they know that they are in love.
This goes the same for when they lose love. They use the words to process the emotions they cannot. They try to put together things they did say, things they would say if they got the chance, and sometimes they write different endings, just to try and stave off the pain.
If you fall in love with a writer, you will be written about, and the memories from your time together, whether they be published or not are written down and immortalized for years to come. There will be phrases and verses that will live on napkin corners, and bill envelopes. They will be thrown in the back of drawers or notebooks that may never find their way to the light, but they will be there. There will nights when the one you love leaves and you feel the pain all over again, and you've found new words for the same feelings.
It is a beautiful thing to fall in love with a writer, because somehow they keep the memory of the good and the bad alive. Somehow, they manage to make you feel the things you didn't know you felt.
I think the best part though, is that it never dies. There is always more to write about, and the people that have writers that fall in love with them are lucky, because it lets you know that you meant something.
Regardless of how things fall apart, is always nice to know that the love was there.
